Played at Paisley. The teams were:- Abercorn: Brownlee; Aitken, McGhee; Blair, McKay, Eadie; Morrow, Smith, Black, Hyslop, Carruth. Aberdeen: Macfarlane; Murray, Brebner; Halkett, Strang, Low; J. Robertson, McNicol, Ruddiman, McAulay, Jaffrey. Referee - Mr. Jeff, Govan.
In the first half, as the result of clever work by Carruth and Hyslop, Abercorn took up the running, and Black, from close quarters, beat Macfarlane, who was repeatedly called upon to save, and so keenly was he pressed that he had to concede several corners. By degrees, however, the Aberdeen war down the attack. Ruddiman led the way out, followed by McNicol and Robertson, but they could not get on level terms, as McGhee and Aitken kept them from troubling Brownlee. Each goal was visited in turn, and Hyslop in one of the attacks just missed scoring by inches.
In the second period McNicol was kicked the under the chin, and had to be carried off the field, and the referee us tomorrow to retire. A penalty was awarded Aberdeen against McGhee. Low took the penalty and scored. Black added a third for Abercorn.
