Dons Qualify for Cup Semi-Final

The secret of Aberdeen's success in the League Cup-tle at Dunfermline, where they won by the odd in three and thus qualified for the semi-final with a lead of two goals over the two games, was the great work accomplished by Cooper, Thomson and Dunlop.

This trio presented a solid barrier to the homesters, who were not allowed to settle, and were given very few chances of beating Johnstone.
With the old hands in defence sure and steady, the two young wing half-backs, Anderson and Cruickshank, were left to do the foraging, and right well did they acquit themselves.
The attack also worked smoothly. The outstanding forward afield was undoubtedly Wallbanks. He inspired the team with a great opening goal, and his general play was admired by all.
Sinclair, the Third Lanark player, created a good impression at inside left, while Buchan, Pattillo, and Dryden were serviceable forwards.
