At Stark's Park, Kirkcaldy. Aberdeen did the initial pressing, but the Kirkcaldy men gradually asserted themselves. Play was fast, but up to the interval neither side was able to score. Up to twenty minutes from time the game was strongly contested. At that point, however, Smith scored for the Northerners, and five minutes from time Cowie equalised. Result:- A draw - One goal each.

At Starks Park Kirkcaldy. Aberdeen pressed at the start, and were repeatedly dangerous, Smith getting in a good shot from the left. After Barrett's charge had been tested by Fairley, Ward at the opposite end rattled the cross-bar with a beauty. Lively play followed, in which Kirkcaldy took a prominent part, and repeatedly came very near scoring.

Resuming in the second portion, Kirkcaldy pressed, Cowie missing an open goal. Aberdeen became dangerous, and a lovely shot from Hall beat Durward. Kirkcaldy again pressed, and for a time Barrett had his hands full. A corner followed, but all to no purpose. Aberdeen tried hard to beat off the attack, and from a sudden breakaway Smith scored, equalising with his head.
