Reserves Go Under
By 3 goals to 1 Aberdeen Reserves succumbed to Dundee Reserves in the first round of the Scottish Second XI Cup at Dens Park. Aberdeen Reserves played well for a time, and opened the scoring through Brown, after Ross had crossed. Dundee Reserves improved later, and Adams equalised, while before the interval Macdonald put them on the lead.
The game in the second half was keenly contested, and both goals were repeatedly in danger. Dundee Reserves got a third goal through Steven, the ball rebounding off the Aberdeen goalkeeper into the net. Aberdeen Reserves attacked vigorously thereafter, and were slightly unlucky to lose by such a margin; indeed, no injustice would have been done had the scores been equal at the finish.
