Aberdeen football followers have come to expect bright foolball from the reserve team, but Saturday’s match at Pittodrie was a ragged, uninteresting affair despite the fact that the young Dons won by 4-2 against St Johnstone "A."
The game had its bright patches, though they were few and far between, and the most entertaining football came from the right-wing pair, Baird and Boyd.
Allan (Beith Juniors), who was on trial on the left wing, had the beating of McFarlane, and crossed some good balls. He provided the opening for the goal scored Boyd.
Sinclair, who was always ready to have a shot at goal when at centre-forward, scored once, and Hay completed the tally with two goals.
Johnson (Mugiemoss) was the best of the local juniors in the St Johnstone "A" team, while Shand, another Mugiemoss player, had a passable game at centre-half.
