Rougvie On Target - On The Rebound

With experienced players like John Murphy, Davie Wells and Dave McCulloch Ayr proved a hot handful for us in the first half and if they had taken two easy chances they could have gone in at the interval in front. As it was two goals by Doug Rougvie and Duncan Davidson gave us the edge at half time.
An early goal after the interval by Dougie Brown knocked the steam out of the visitors. Dougie scored another goal when McGiffen the visitors goalkeeper dropped a Neil Cooper cross. John Gardiner, Neil Cooper, Alec McLeish, Gordon Strachan (captain for the day), Duncan Davidson and Doug Rougvie were our top men. Neil Simpson from Middlefield Wolves and Tommy Maguire are our new ground staff boys. Neil a midfield player hails from Newmachar and Tommy a left winger comes from Campbelltown.
