Blue Do For Dons Reserves

THE YOUNG DONS' successful run came to an end last Saturday, but fortunately a 2-1 defeat did not cost us the leadership of the Reserve League table for the reverse came in a hastily-arranged friendly fixture against Peterhead at Recreation Park.
The boys have played a lot better recently than they did against the Highland League side, but, having said that, the young Dons should have won. John Craig missed a penalty in the first half and we had most of the pressure after the interval, but just couldn't put the ball in the net until Jim Forrest scored in the last minute. By that time we were two down and the fact that John McMaster, who has been farmed out to Peterhead this season, scored their second goal rubbed salt into the wound. I sent on Ian Purdie and Andy Kerr to replace Bertie Miller and Joe Smith at half-time and with half an hour to go Bobby Street took over from Charlie Esslemont, who made his first appearance for several months.
