Wee Dons Stage Recovery

Since the last time of writing we have only managed one game which saw us beat Dundee United by 2 goals to 1. Our goals being scored by our Substitutes, Ernie Drews and Walker McCall in the last 5 minutes. The score is not a true replication of the game as we had 70% of the play but for some bad finishing and some bad luck we would have won more handsomely. The players who did most for us to win, were Jim Crawford, Willie Garner and Neil Cooper in defence and Ian Fleming and Bobby Street up front.
Our next game should have been against Hearts at Pittodrie but with a number of their players laid low with the Flu, they could not muster enough players to make the trip. We also had a game arranged at Elgin in mid-week, but with the heavy rain over the weekend, Borough Briggs was declared unplayable. But we will play Elgin at a later date. Our game against Clyde in the Second II Cup was also a victim of the weather (snow this time) and another date will have to be arranged.
We had Derek Fraser of Forres Mechanics for 10 days and he showed us that he is a very talented player and I'm sure he would be a great asset to our playing staff. Bobby Glennie who was at the Professional Youth gathering at Stirling last Sunday enjoyed the training and the coaching and along with Ian Wilson and Neil Cooper will again be attending tomorrow. Today we make the long bus journey to Ayr and hope to have the same success as last time.
