Aberdeen Reserves were in scoring mood against Peterhead in an Aberdeen and District match last night, when victory went to the home team by 5 goals to 1.
Peterhead gave a splendid account of themselves in the first half, and were level at the interval, before which each side had scored once, Mackie for Aberdeen, and Chalmers for Peterhead. In the second period, the superiority of the home team was never in doubt, and after Guyan had increased their lead, Mackie added other two in quick succession, Stevenson obtaining a fifth.
In the period Peterhead were handicapped by injury to Chalmers, their centre forward, who had to take up the outside right position. A feature of the match was the fine marksmanship shown by Mackie, who was always dangerous near goal. Others on the winners' side who were outstanding were McBoyle, Lees, Robertson, Stevenson and Thomson. Peterhead were best served by Thomson, Bruce, and Chalmers. Attendance, 3000.
