Better Team Won
St Bernards were handicapped by an injury to Mackie, who had to take over the left wing berth in the second half. The Edinburgh side, however, were beaten by a better team. Veitch and Matthews played well for the home team in defence, and Logie and J Wilkie were best in attack. Fleming opened the scoring for the Dons early in the game, but J Wilkie quickly equalised and Logie gave them the lead. Dyer put the teams on level terms again before the interval. McCall and Dyer laid the foundation of Aberdeen?s victory with goals in the opening minutes of the second period. The inside left scored a fifth midway through the half and Bain came along with a grand sixth in the closing stages.
