Aberdeen 7 - 0 Falkirk

IT will not be known until Saturday night whether Dundee or Aberdeen have won the championship of the North-Eastern League. Dundee, who still lead by one point, got through at Ibrox by the only goal of the match, while Aberdeen registered another smashing victory by seven clear goals over Falkirk at Pittodrie.
Both Dundee and Aberdeen are at home this week, the former to Dunfermline Athletic and the latter to Raith Rovers, who, by their home defeat, are now out the hunt.

Whether the Dons win the flag or not, their record twenty-two goals without losing one in their last four games will go down as one the greatest achievements in wartime football.
For a long time at Pittodrie on Saturday it looked as if Falkirk were going defy the Dons.
During the first twenty minutes at Pittodrie Falkirk's defence was battered relentlessly by the Aberdeen attack, but after Waldron opened the scoring the visitors, although making spasmodic dangerous raids, were well beaten.
Only once during the whole game were Johnstone's capabilities tested, and it was a masterly full-length save by him from which meant the retention of the Pittodrie team's great record.
Cooper was at his best, and in young McKenna he had a partner who can be played with confidence at any time. His tackling and kicking were exceptionally good, ana his headwork reliable.
The half-back trio were immense. Russell was in great form, and Taylor was almost at his best. Dunlop enhanced his reputation as a great centre-half.
Although they took a long time to break down Falkirk's defensive barrier, the forwards showed brilliance at times. There was balance, thrust and understanding in the line. Waldron, who had the hat-trick, and brought his total to twenty-three, led the attack with great skill. No forward compared with Pattillo. Bremner did not take risks, but Miller and Munro were fast and dangerous wingers.
But for Nimmo in goal Falkirk would have been beaten by a much bigger score. Th eonly other player to take the eye was Ventre.
