Rangers equalised before half time but in the second half it was all Aberdeen. McManus and Smith both had close attempts. Dean Carse replaced Ryan Fraser and the striker was unlucky with a couple of attempts. With 20 minutes to go Rangers were reduced to 10 men and Aberdeen continued to dominate in the closing stages but they were unable to find a winner. The Dons were almost made to pay for losing possession in a dangerous area in the final minute but Prezemyslaw, who did not have much to do over the 90 minutes, produced an excellent save.
The 19s this year have one of the youngest squads in the league yet they have drawn with both Celtic and Rangers now and also Hibs who look like being up there challenging this season. Their only defeat was a narrow 2-1 reserve against Hearts. Very encouraging signs for the future.
