Frame's Double Jag For Thistle

Our supporters must have been disappointed with our display on Saturday against Partick Thistle Reserves. The talent was there, but the team work, was missing and we were not able to build up attacking moves in the way we did last season. However, with more practise this will come. We had to field a very young team owing to the fact that three of our senior players were suspended and two others were injured. One or two new faces were seen on Satur¬day, and throughout the season we will be introducing some more new ones.
Neale Cooper who played sweeper is a local boy and is well known to the followers of schools football. Neale is still at school and is a player who has a great future in front of him. He has been on the Pittodrie scene since he was ten years old. Michael Robertson a sixteen year old from Eastercraigs played at centre-half and had the difficult job of marking the experienced Sandy Frame. He stuck to his task well and the experience will do him a power of good. Another Easter-craigs Product was midfield player Ian Angus who is a very skilful lad who will make his mark this season. Ian unfortunately is suffering from Chickenpox at the moment.
Tommy Maguire the lad from Campbeltown who was loaned to Fraserburgh last season is also a midfield player who can also play on the left wing. We are looking for big things from 'Tarn' this season. Three other newcomers are Steve Morrison who played for Lewis United juniors last season, Steve Cowan and Alec Peden. They are all strikers from the Paisley area, so it will be interesting to see who wins the No. 9 spot in the reserve team. Chris Slavin who was with Devorn-vale last season and was unfor¬tunate to break his ankle at the end of the season is a centre half who will be fighting hard for a place in the team. George Middleton one of our groundstaff boys will be playing for Lewis United next season and John Hewitt (who has already had a taste of first team duty) are local lads who are prod¬ucts of Bobby Clark and Len Taylors coaching classes, and nothing would please our coaches more than to see these lads make the grade.
That is a brief run down on some of the youngsters, who we hope will win honours for the club in future years.
