A GREAT save by McIndewar kept victory from the Young Doas when they drew 1-1 with Rangers "A" in the Scottish Second XI. Cup semi-final replay at Pittodrie on Saturday.
From a Miller cross Botha connected with his head. It seemed a certain goal. But with a frantic acrobatic leap across the goal McIndewar just succeeded in palming the ball out of harm's way.
Less than a minute later Hume had his shot blocked on the goal-line with the 'keeper nowhere. It wasn't the Dons' lucky day.
Rangers gained an early lead through Grant, and, just before the interval, Waldron, the best of the home forwards, equalised from the penalty spot.
Though the Aberdeen forwards played some pretty football they could not finish. Botha, who otherwise had a gocd game, spoiled chances through hesitancy and holding the ball too long.
Watson's grand performance in goal saved few awkward situations for the Dons. Right-back Cowie was sound throughout, and his partner McDonald, after a shaky start, gave a good display.
All the half-backs played well, with McKenzie outstanding. Right half McVean produced some clever touches.
