Young Dons Take Point from Hamilton.
A late goal for the homesters prevented Aberdeen A taking full points in the Alliance League game at Douglas Park. The young Dons played strongly and were unfortunate not to get the verdict. Twice in the first half the visitors had the bail in the net, but previous infringements nullified the points. Midway through the second period Miller missed a penalty for the homesters. Aberdeen A had the better of the early stages, and twice promising movements were spoiled by Moore getting offside. Then after ten minutes the unexpected happened. Westland was slow in clearing an effort by Gilmour, and Newman rushed in to place the ball in the net.Fast Exchanges.
Aberdeen A retaliated and the exchanges were fast and furious, but it was not until close on the interval that Conwell equalised. Immediately after the interval the visitors went ahead. Drummond, the Accies 'keeper, was caught in possession and Love rushed him into the net. Newman was a dangerous leader for Hamilton and he had numerous efforts to break through the Aberdeen defence. His persistency was rewarded three minutes from time when he beat Westland. A great save by the 'keeper prevented Gallacher putting Accies ahead in the last minute. R. Craigen, the amateur trialist, showed up well for the young Dons, while Gavin, Conwell, and Moore were also prominent. For the homesters, Dewar, Murray, McGourty and Newman were best.
