Winners of Alliance Championship
SMART WIN OVER HAMILTON "A"
It was an excellent performance on the part of Aberdeen reserves to defeat Hamilton Acas. "A" by the odd goal in three at Douglas Park. This victory gave the Young Dons their second Alliance League championship. Their first success was registered in season 1932-33. Aberdeen "A" thoroughly merited their win. They were superior both fore and aft, and with a little luck they would have won by a bigger margin. Aberdeen took some time to settle down, and the fact that Wilson gave the homesters the lead in two minutes did not tend to help matters. Gradually, however, the Young Dons settled down, and started to force on play. The Hamilton defence did not inspire confidence, and in twenty-two minutes Scott equalised. From this period onwards the Aberdeen lads held the advantage, and Strauss, always a dangerous raider, scored the winning goal twenty-five minutes after the start of the second period.Source: Press & Journal, 27th April 1936
YOUNG DONS STRIP IN TRAIN
The train which was carrying Aberdeen "A" to their important League match with Hamilton "A" at Douglas Park Saturday broke down near Glamis. A connection was rushed north from Coatbridge. The team stripped in the train and then walked In football kit from Hamilton West Station to the ground.Source: Press & Journal, 27th April 1936
