Aberdeen 2 - 0 St. Mirren

HT Score: Aberdeen 2 - 0 St. Mirren

Premier Division
Aberdeen scorers: Scanlon 25, Rougvie 42.

.

A huge crowd welcomed both teams, as the championship race entered the home straight with both clubs still in the running. A rare Ian Scanlon header brought the first goal and then Doug Rougvie secured the points when he thumped in the rebound after an Archibald flick was only parried by Billy Thomson. The result killed off any Saints hope of the league but for the Dons only three matches stood between them and their 1st title in 25 years.
