Josh made his debut for Cardiff on the opening day of the 2009-10 season in a 4-0 win over Scunthorpe United. Magennis scored his first professional goal during a 3-1 win over Bristol Rovers in the second round of the League Cup.
Josh has represented Northern Ireland at various levels. He scored twice for the U21s against Iceland in September 2009. The powerful striker is also an internationalist and made his full debut for Northern Ireland on the 26 May 2010 against Turkey in a friendly.
